Notorious RBG will headline a show at Auditorium Theatre
July 13th, 2017
The Auditorium Theatre often gets big headliners on its historic stage. But maybe none so big as the Notorious RBG–the affectionately hip name for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She’s the featured headliner for an upcoming show.
Ginsburg talk about her life and career during a one-on-one conversation with Judge Ann Claire Williams on Sept. 11.
Tania Castroverde Moskalenko, Auditorium Theatre’s CEO, gushed in a release announcing the event. “We are so honored to host Justice Ginsburg at our National Historic Landmark,” she said. “This event is an incredible opportunity to hear the longtime Supreme Court justice speak about her fascinating life and experiences.”
Ginsburg was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2015 and is the best-selling author of “My Own Words.”
She also has a strong Chicago connection.
Ginsburg’s son is Jim Ginsburg, the founder of Cedille Records in Chicago. (Scroll down my column in the Chicago Sun-Times for details.)
Williams is also a notable Chicago name. She serves on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Williams also co-founded the Minority Legal Education Resources Initiative in 1977, which has helped some 4,000 lawyers pass the Illinois bar exam since its inception.
