LGBT Center in LA to honor Valerie Jarrett, Ari Emanuel
June 21st, 2017
Valerie Jarrett and Ari Emanuel will be honored by the Los Angeles LGBT Center for their contributions to the LGBT community.
Jarrett is the former senior adviser to President Barack Obama and Emanuel is co-CEO of William Morris Endeavor (WME), an entertainment and media company. He’s also a brother of Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
The annual Vanguard Awards Gala each year some 1,200 leaders from the civic, corporate, entertainment, and philanthropic communities.
Past honorees include the late Senator Edward Kennedy, Sir Elton John, actors Neil Patrick Harris, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.
I’m hoping for a Miley Cyrus moment. In 2015, the singer was invited on stage after musician Linda Perry performed “Hands of Love.” Cyrus licked the piano, which in turn was auctioned off for a whopping $50,000.
