Chicago tech entrepreneur finds his way to billionaire status
June 7th, 2017
Rishi Shah, who quit college to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams, became a billionaire last week. And his business partner, Shradha Agarwal is close behind.
Their windfall came with a $600 million infusion of venture capital into Outcome Health, the Chicago health-tech company they founded in 2006. It’s now valued at $5.6 billion.
Outcome Health installs touch screens in doctors’ offices and uses specialized software to help physicians and patients make treatment decisions. It also a dream for health-care marketers and pharmaceutical companies.
Shah and Agarwal have been dogged in building the company on their own. Last week’s investment infusion came primarily from Chicago-based Pritzker Group, Goldman Sachs, CapitalG, which is connected to Google.
Shah’s success isn’t a surprise to his family. Get the details in my Taking Names column in the Chicago Sun-Times.
