A kick in the pants at Union League Club
June 15th, 2017
The buttoned-up Union League Club is loosening its collar and allowing jeans to be worn–at least some of the time–in its downtown facility.
“It helps us keep in step with our members, many of whom are younger and dress casual for work,” says Bill Nissen, a Sidley Austin law firm partner who was sworn in last week as club president.
Members and guests shouldn’t throw away slacks or khakis quite yet. There are still some exceptions about wearing jeans.
Read the details about when/where you can wear jeans and the interesting back story about Nissen. It’s all in my Taking Names column in the Chicago Sun-Times.
