She’s making manufacturing cool again
March 29th, 2017
A Chicaga-area businesswoman hopes to make manufacturing cool again.
Courtney Wright, who counts business titan Andrew McKenna as a mentor, is ramping up work at Gemini Build It, a 40-year-old frame-making company in Elgin. She bought the business six months ago from original owner Fred Campbell, who’s retired.
Interestingly, Wright had been a customer of Gemini and always loved the good work it did.
Now as owner, Wright has beefed up employee ranks from 50 to 65, added profit-sharing, pay raises, a retirement plan, town hall meetings and donut days (nice).
“I want to make it a great manufacturing company,” the the Rhode Island native told me.
