Mag Mile residents swing at fences
May 13th, 2017
When you live near the Mag Mile, community meetings are held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. That doesn’t mean the discussions are any less heated.
Park planners faced a boisterous crowd of residents the other day over renovaitons plans for Seneca Park, just across he street from the Museum of Contemporary Art.
At issue was a fence. The city offered a design that showed one side of the park open–no fence.
They called it aesthetically pleasing. And the MCA surely liked the idea of looking out at open green space.
But residents wouldn’t have it. They’ve worried about “vagabonds” making a mess and children possibly running out into the street.
Scroll down my Taking Names column in the Chicago Sun-Times to see the outcome. It’s worth the read.
