Ken Griffin donates $5.5 million to Field Museum
July 6th, 2016
Ken Griffin, the Chicago billionaire who runs Chicago-based Citadel hedge-fund company, has donated $5.5 million to the Field Museum to fund a traveling exhibition of antarctic dinosaurs.
Richard Lariviere, president and CEO of the Field Museum, says the Field is delighted by the gift. To say the least.
It puts donations to the museum from Griffin and his charitable fund at $10.5 million over the past 15 years.
Griffin’s gift will also allow the Field to introduce new dinosaur educational programming, including a multimedia educator toolkit and an immersive educational video game.
