Finding Mr. Wright
June 21st, 2016
Media coach and TV producer Kathryn Janicek had been on a two-year hiatus from the rollercoaster world of dating when she met Ted Wright, vice president of sales/marketing for Streamline Healthcare Solutions LLC.
Janicek’s crazy work schedule in TV news made dating difficult. There was little time for meeting men in bars or at networking events.
The next day, Wright made a very simple move that won him a second date. He sent her a text.
“A lot of guys don’t do that right away. I thought that’s exactly what I want–a guy who has the courage to say ‘I don’t know how you feel, but I really want to see you again’.”
Wright proposed in autumn last year and the two were married on May 14 on the beach in Fort Myers, Fla., where her parents now live after moving from the Chicago suburbs.
The wedding celebration still felt “very Chicago.”
Along with family and friends from the Windy City and gift bags from Nuts on Clark, the music was performed by Robert Deason and Emily Henderson, members of Chicago’s Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos.
Janicek even surprised the crowd with a sultry accompaniment of Happy Birthday to her new husband, whose 48th birthday the same day.
“It was the best day,” Janicek recalls. “I remember friends saying ‘you’ll know'” when you find the right guy. “And now I know. I finally found Mr. (W)right.”
