Art Institute gala raises $3 million, draws big names
May 13th, 2017
Big names came out over the weekend to raise $3 million for the Art Institute of Chicago.
The black-tie event featured insurance magnate Pat Ryan and his wife, Shirley. The two have donated and raised millions of dollars for the museum over the years. The learning center located in the museum’s Modern Wing is named in their honor.
Ryan is chairman and CEO of Ryan Specialty (insurance) Group and was a founder of Aon. He recently was named to Forbes’ billionaire list.
Check out the other notable attendees–including a Chicagao executive who couns Ryan as a mentor–in my Taking Names column in the Chicago Sun-Times.
